Prayer Basics

In these lessons, our goal is to ensure we are being effective in our prayers. That is, to learn how to pray and cause things to happen in the earth! God has given us direct access to Him and when we pray as we ought—He delights and is just and able to forgive us of all our sins and unrighteousness! And even more than that, we can pray in agreement with the Word of God, and that’s real power!

Prayer in Action

Prayer works and we explore instances of prayer in action. Prayer is powerful and should not be relegated to grace and Sunday mornings. Through prayer, we can stand during mighty storms; through prayer, we can speak to the lost and they will hear; through prayer, we can attack things through the Spirit of God and like a laser, cause things to change. Prayer changes things…and most of all, prayer changes us!

Trusting the Promise!

When the Lord speaks into our lives and gives direction, we often fail because we can no longer feel the fire was there when He first spoke to us. We are like a steam engine that boils all the water away, and when the water is gone…the engine has no power. Prayer is our access point to our refueling station; it is our source that refills us continually because we are in communion with the Lord on High! God is our source and through Him—every promise is made complete because we no longer run just on a feeling, but through the faith-fueled, prayer-sustained relationship of the Holy Spirit.

Benefits of Prayer

There are many natural benefits to prayer: prayer gives us the strength that we need when our strength has escaped us; strength when we have no hope; and even hope when we have no strength! Prayer has the power to give us direct access to God in moments when we need the Lord to impact a situation—right now! But the most powerful benefit to prayer is knowing that we are connected to Our Father in Heaven, never alone…never without hope!

When Men Pray

Most pastors would not hesitate to tell you that the strength of their prayer ministry is the women of the church. And while there are many reasons for that truth, there is another truth. When men bow down before the Lord God on High, they do so in keeping with the order of creation. It was Adam who God created first; and Adam who walked in the Garden of Eden with the Lord in daily fellowship. It is time we reestablish this order men—and when we do, everything that was out of order—must come into order…in the name of the Lord!
