Mentoring…Not an Option!

Mentoring is one of the ways wisdom, experience, and spiritual maturity are passed from one person to another. Throughout our lives, God places people around us who challenge us, encourage us, and help us grow beyond where we might have gone on our own.

BounceBack Ministries’ Mentoring Workshop is designed to help churches, ministries, and organizations develop intentional mentoring relationships grounded in biblical principles and practical application.

Why Mentoring Matters

Much of your existing personal narrative fits here. In particular, retain the material about your parents, high-school algebra teacher, learning to see your “best self,” and the realization that mentors are people God positions in our lives. That gives this page a personal foundation rather than making it read like a generic training advertisement.

For most of us, life is hard. Not that there are not times of great joy—it is how we get through those times, when we cannot find that next moment of joy that often makes life difficult. When we ‘go it alone’ we learn how challenging life is when we can’t lean on the wisdom of other, great men and women, who speak words encouraging us to become better.

Looking back, it is amazing how the power of their wisdom challenge us and help us become our “best selves.” Their influence demonstrates the power of mentoring! In fact, I truly believe that once we develop of our future selves, I truly believe that the impossible—in that moment, becomes possible!

See the pattern? Our best selves is something that we are always in search of… It keeps us from quitting and settling too soon! As long as we desire to continually grow, our hearts, minds spirits produce good fruit, as we listen the wisdom that is great than our own! These are our mentors. Faithful. Committed to the walk of ensuring that no one is life behind.

The great thing is that Mentors may be in our lives for a life-time, or just for a season. And we must be mindful that not everyone who we may desire to mentor us—is the one whom the Lord has sent. As we go through this study, take the time to hear the Lord as He positions us to be mentored—and to be a mentor to others.

How the Workshop Works

The Mentoring Workshop can be conducted in one or two half-day sessions and customized for the needs of the church, ministry, or organization.

The training combines biblical instruction, discussion, practical exercises, and case studies designed to move participants from understanding mentoring to actually developing mentoring relationships.

Developing a Mentoring Program

The objective extends beyond conducting a workshop. BounceBack Ministries works with participating organizations to help identify how mentoring can function within their ministry and to develop an approach that can be implemented after the training is complete.
