Marriage Mentoring Workshop
Strong marriages can strengthen families, churches, and communities. The Marriage Mentoring Workshop is designed to equip individuals and couples to serve as Marriage Mentors—people prepared to walk alongside other couples and help them apply biblical principles to the realities of married life.
This is not a marriage-enrichment workshop for couples seeking help with their own marriage. It is an equipping and training experience for churches, ministries, and organizations that want to develop Marriage Mentors who can serve others.
What Is a Marriage Mentor?
When the Lord placed the concept of working with married couples on our hearts, He spoke to us about becoming Marriage Mentors.
We believe a Marriage Mentor can be someone who is married, willing to share from personal experience, and able to offer biblical insight that helps other couples reconsider principles, patterns, or behaviors affecting their marriage.
Being a Marriage Mentor does not mean having marriage completely figured out. Effective mentoring requires humility and transparency—the willingness to acknowledge what we have learned through both the successes and challenges of marriage and use those experiences to encourage others.
What the Workshop Provides
The Marriage Mentoring Workshop is generally conducted over two half-day sessions and combines biblical teaching, practical instruction, discussion, exercises, and demonstration.
Day One
Introduction to Marriage Mentoring
Foundational mentoring concepts
The role and responsibilities of a Marriage Mentor
Small-group discussion and exercises
Day Two
Biblical principles for marriage and mentoring
Applying biblical concepts to real-life situations
Small-group exercises
Mentoring demonstration and practical application
Developing Marriage Mentors
Our goal is to help churches, ministries, and organizations develop Marriage Mentors who can serve couples within their own communities.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participating organizations can identify individuals or couples who may be appropriate to serve as Marriage Mentors and determine how mentoring will function within their ministry.
The objective is not to create people who claim to have perfect marriages. It is to equip people who can listen, encourage, share transparently, and consistently point couples toward biblical principles.
