We have all heard great singers sing—but not all great singers can
-
We have heard “good” teachers—but without the anointing of God they can only speak from their head knowledge!
-
It takes an anointed Word from God to move the hearts of men!
-
Good preaching may cause us to emote; but anointed preaching will cause us to change!

However, one day, at nursery school we made the most amazing necklace out of fruit; that is, cranberries to be precise. Cranberries are quite hard as fruit go, and you can take a needle and push it through the berries and create ornamental jewelry. In fact, I remember when I got picked up from pre-school, still excited as I wore that necklace—and I still had it on when I ventured into the yard, on the long, slow walk to burn the trash.
As I neared the pit, I noticed that on this particular day, I was not alone. There was a squirrel walking along the telephone wire that was connected to the pole behind our home. (Note: My kids will tell you, that this is the funny part.) I noticed that the squirrel had begun his journey along the wire at a full run but when I noticed him—I think he also noticed me, and he stopped….
Did you know that squirrels really like cranberries? I learned that they really do…in fact, that squirrel decided to leap from the wire that he rested on—directly onto me! All I remember is screaming and my dad rescuing me from this squirrel! I don’t even remember what happened to the necklace—let alone the burning newspaper.
And while I share this story now, and have in the past with my children, I am still unsure as to why it is so funny??? If nothing else, this story could be made into a television drama: we have a small boy; a killer squirrel; and forbidden fruit! (And of course we had the hero—my dad!)But somehow, my kids only see hilarity of the situation!
Today, God showed me that this story is like the story of a Christian who walks around ill prepared for the constant battle that he must endure. We have all either been or known others that are oblivious to the fact that we have an “adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8 KJV).”
And that’s why I have included this section. As Christians, we must be spiritually fit! That is, we must continually be on guard, ready to leap into the fray. We must be strong intercessors in our prayers. We must be strong in the Word, so that we can be, “be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine, (II Tim 4:2 KJV).” We must be sensitive to the Spirit of God. That is, we must be ready to “move” when God says “move”—or “wait” when God says “wait!”
Believe me, it is not easy—but it is the reason that we exist, as “we live, and move, and have our being! (Acts 17:28KJV)”
As we move on in our journey through the BounceBack Devotionals, we move as one who has been training for a race. We have not yet won the prize—but we are definitely running stronger![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

OUR SUFFICIENCY IN CHRIST
Understanding your self-worth is a matter of learning to see yourself as God sees you. We can, however, become trapped in the world’s image of us – how they see us. The world wants to place you in a box so that it can dismiss you as just one out of a large group of sameness; the Lord, however wants to lift you up – so that God would be glorified through your life! Believe it! God knows you better than you know yourself – and things are a whole lot better than you thought they were!

OUR KINGDOM CITIZENSHIP
What does it mean to be a Kingdom Citizen? Is having our name on the church role enough? Is being in good standing with the church enough? A Kingdom Citizen walks in the authority of the King and when we as believers begin to understand the depth of what that means – then we can begin to understand that even when all the odds are against us, we are still victorious in Christ!
