[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The purpose of the Workbook is to support the reader’s development in the Mentoring Process. The workbook accompanies the two part, four to five-hour presentation and allows the participant to take notes and have record of the materials that they can refer to after the session has concluded. The Mentoring Process is critical in ensuring that the mentoring participants have an effective working relationship that is impactful both to them, and the Kingdom of God!We begin the workshop postulating the walk that we all have from birth to our final days. But we are assured in ourselves that our role is not simply to be born, to live and to die. There must be something more. In that, we search the question of what our purpose is.
Fundamentally, we believe that we all have a purpose. That purpose we also believe is within us. That is, the gifting or talents that are part of our purpose are inherently within us—as a gift from God. Our God, who loves us—who has placed us in this place called earth, in this season…for a reason. That reason is our purpose!
But how do we know? How do we come into the understanding that our purpose is God-sent? To understand any component of our God given purpose—we must have a relationship with God! God is the author and the finisher of our faith, so our purpose is tied up in Him! The purpose is revealed to us through God’s Promise to us. What does the Lord say in this regard? We find out in Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV:
-
- “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
In this the Lord is disclosing that your life—and the life of every believer is contained in the thoughts of God. Thoughts that are revealed to us as we go to the Lord in prayer. In fact, the very next verse of Jeremiah 29:12-13 NKJV reads:
-
- “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
In that prayer, the Lord God will reveal to us His Promise for our life. In fact, I have always maintained that if we have the courage to ask the Lord—He will show you His promise for your life! And we have always believed and it is true in examination, that our Purpose is tied to our Promise that is divinely spoken to us by God.
The challenge then is, “How do we get to that Purpose? How do we walk out the Promises of God in our lives?” Sure, many fight their Purpose—but so many desperately desire to walk in their Purpose. The challenge is, that when most of us hear the Promise—we are ill-equipped to walk in our Purpose. In fact, the distance from Promise to Purpose is measured by our Process.
Process simply refers to the time, challenges, obstacles, growth, heartbreak, trust and hope that lie between the acknowledgements of our Promise…to the fulfillment of our purpose![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
