Our Mentoring Workshop is conducted in 2, 1/2 day session, and is given with an accompanying Mentoring Workbook with all lecture images and additional topic notes. The workshop Topics include:

At the end of the session, we will be able to develop and implement a Mentoring Program for your organization!

For most of us, life is hard. Not that there are not times of great joy—it is how we get through the times where we cannot find that next moment of joy that often makes life difficult. The longer that I live, the more I realize how challenging life can be when it is lived without the influence of great men and women who can speak words that encourage us to become better.

My life before college was focused around technological things and questioning why things worked the way they worked. Often that meant learning by deconstructing televisions, stereos and appliances to find the answers to my questions of “why and how.” And usually, these explorations came at a painful price…because the things that I deconstructed…were rarely mine!These are the power of the words from others who through the voice of experience can challenge us and help us to develop an image of our “best selves.” This is the power of mentoring! In fact, I truly believe that once we have developed the mental image of the impossible—it immediately becomes possible—that is, attainable to us!

Fortunately, there were powerful voices in my life—my parents and my high school algebra teacher—that directed me to explore engineering as a path in life. And while I did go on to achieve Bachelors and Masters Degrees in engineering…the journey to get there afforded me the opportunity to hear other voices that continued to challenge me to continue to upgrade my image of my “best self.”

See the pattern? Our best selves is something that we are always in search of…and never something that we can settle in for long—as long as we desire to continually grow, our hearts, our minds and our spirits will mature as we listen to those whose voices speak so loudly in our lives! Our best self is always evolving—always embracing the greater image of who God has called us to be as he uses the seasoned voices of others who mentor us along the way!

The great thing is that Mentors are those who may be in our lives for a life-time, or just for a season. And we must be mindful that not everyone who we may desire to mentor us—is the one whom the Lord has sent. As you go through this study, take the time to hear the Lord as He positions us to be mentored—and to be a mentor to others.
