As the Lord slowly revealed His response to me, I used it to assess my own level of teaching. It was good teaching, check. It was engaging to those who heard me teach, check. It was likely engaging…even entertaining to my students as well, check.
But there was still a deeper truth to understanding the Word of God and the true and deeper revelations of God. As I began my new journey to understand 7-Deep, I would find that it would be a personal approach to better comprehend and deliver the truths of the Bible, while conveying a deeper depth of God’s Word and desired meaning.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
1-Deep: The Level of Pretense
This is the level that the Word of God says that “demons know;” it is not a depth of understanding—just knowledge of God’s Word. This can be characterized as a “drive by” understanding of the Word of God.
2-Deep: The Level of Duality—Living Two Lives
This is the level of teaching that often goes forth; not to say that there is not a depth of preparation and study—but it is limited in its ability to cause people to change their lives. In fact, it is often at this level where a teacher or preacher often lives two lives—one that they profess and one they must confess.
3-Deep: The Level of Detached Objectiveness
This level of the believer is deeper still and the believer lives a fairly submitted life and is beginning to search the scriptures for a theologically deeper understanding of the Word that they live by and share with others. They are often much focused on the historical view of the Bible—people, places and things, i.e. social customs which is good—but the impact on the lives of the believers is difficult because there is no relevant transference to their daily lives. In many ways, there is an outward articulation of the Word of God with little internal manifestation of the same.
There’s More…
There’s 4-Deep, 5-Deep, 6-Deep and 7-Deep. So you will have to get the book to find out more. And then in each Chapter we unfold the understanding of 7-Deep. I have never read or heard of any other approach to understanding the depth of the Word of the Lord, but it has served me well–and I believe that it will serve you as well.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
